Mood Tracker support

For help or privacy questions, email gmb234789@gmail.com. Support is not an emergency or clinical service and is not continuously monitored.

Before contacting support

Include your app version/build (shown in Settings), iPhone or iPad model, system version, the feature involved, the exact error message and steps to reproduce it. Say whether it happens every time. A redacted screenshot or fictional example is usually better than a journal export. Never send passwords, Apple account credentials, recordings or a full journal unless you deliberately choose to share information needed for support.

Start with a check-in

On Today, tap a mood to save a timestamped check-in. Use Add details or open the entry in Journal for optional ratings, context, written notes and voice notes. Optional fields can remain empty. Use Save to keep edits; Cancel leaves the saved entry unchanged.

Choose several feelings

Open Explore feelings on Today. Browse the alphabetical list or search, select up to 12 words, choose a main mood, then save one check-in. Earlier saved feeling paths remain visible in existing entries. Update every syncing device to build 4 or later before using the new selector.

Protect and recover your journal

Use Settings → Export full backup before reinstalling, moving devices or troubleshooting storage. A full backup includes private text and voice recordings; store it somewhere you trust. Reports are not a complete replacement for a JSON backup.

If the journal cannot be opened, preserve it and contact support. Do not uninstall to clear an error unless you already have a verified backup or successful cloud copy. The app preserves unreadable storage instead of silently replacing it. Restore merges supported backups; it does not promise to undo every later edit. Update all syncing devices before restoring backups from a newer app version.

The complete journal has a 20 MB size limit. Voice notes use some of this capacity. If saving reports a size limit, export a backup before selectively removing unneeded recordings. Check available device storage as well.

Insights, charts and Visualize

Insights summarizes the selected entries. Open More charts & details or the comparison sections for additional views; Show/Hide expands or collapses details. If a chart is empty, check the date range, filters and whether the relevant optional ratings were recorded. Missing values are not treated as zero. Some comparisons need several rated days.

Visualize shows calendar heat maps. Mood mix uses colored strips proportional to the recorded mood counts. Frequency uses shading for the number of check-ins, not emotional intensity. Mixed days can have multiple colors. Select a mood, date range, Since beginning or custom dates/times to change the view, and tap a day for counts. Lines connect recorded observations and preserve missing-day gaps; they are not additional observations.

Optional AI reflections

On-device AI reflections start off. They require a compatible Apple Intelligence device, supported software/settings and a ready on-device model. Open Insights → Trends & AI suggestions. The Settings history window defaults to 14 days and can be adjusted from 3 to 90 days independently of dashboard filters. Sparse records may not provide eligible suggestions. Generation can time out; use the non-AI summaries and try again later. AI does not diagnose a condition or determine ideal health targets.

Cloud-assisted AI, Ask my journal and Siri journal actions are disabled. Older shortcuts cannot read your journal through these actions. No cloud AI fallback is used.

Journal privacy and history

Settings → Journal privacy offers a lock using Face ID, Touch ID or your device passcode. Device authentication is required to change the lock. Shared files are outside this protection.

New installations keep check-ins until you delete them. Settings lets you choose unlimited history or a period from 7 to 365 days. Older entries wait for review and confirmation; choosing a period does not cause silent deletion on startup or sync. Back up first. Life events remain until explicitly deleted.

Personal insights

Insights → Weekly recap & personal insights includes descriptive weekly comparisons, a personal baseline, things you recorded as helpful, and life events. These views require enough rated days and use all check-ins independently of dashboard filters. A before/after difference does not show that a life event caused a change.

Voice notes

In Settings, enable Voice notes, read the explanation, choose Continue and respond to the iPhone microphone prompt. Voice notes are optional; permission is not requested at startup. If permission was denied, change it in iPhone Settings before recording.

Open a check-in, record a note, stop and play it back, then Save. Add another voice note for multiple recordings. Each can be played or removed separately. Each recording is limited to two minutes and 600 KB. Going to the background or an audio interruption can stop recording; review it before saving. Turning the feature off prevents new recordings and keeps saved ones.

Reminders and notifications

Open Settings → Reminders & notifications, enable reminders, choose your schedule and Save. Allow notifications when asked. If reminders do not arrive, check iPhone notification permission, Focus, sound and scheduling settings. iOS can delay or silence delivery. Turn reminders off and Save to cancel the schedule. Tapping a reminder opens Today without logging a mood automatically.

Private iCloud sync

Enable private sync only if you want the complete journal, including notes, recordings, life events and what-helped feedback, stored in your private iCloud database. Check internet access, Apple account sign-in and the sync status message. Sync happens while the app is active; confirm success before relying on recovery on another device. Turning sync off does not delete the cloud copy. Update all syncing devices before using the newest journal format.

Circle invitations and online report publication are retired. This update does not automatically delete reports previously published by older versions or recall recipients’ copies. Contact support if you need help with a previously published report; do not delete your journal to troubleshoot sharing. The app does not automatically send alerts to friends or clinicians.

PDF reports and full backups

Open Insights → PDF & report sharing, or Reports → Choose report & preview PDF. Choose Current selection, All check-ins or a Custom date/time range. Check the matching count, optionally include the mood heat map, and preview the PDF before sharing. No website or iCloud account is required to generate the file. If a report is too large, narrow the date range or filters.

Voice recordings, life events and what-helped feedback are excluded from PDF reports. Other private text is excluded unless you explicitly enable it. Full JSON backups contain the complete journal, including private text and recordings. After sharing, the receiving service controls its copy. HTML/CSV sharing and online publication are not available in this version.

Readability and accessibility

Mood Tracker supports larger text and system accessibility features. Adjust iPhone text size and accessibility settings as needed. Contact support with the screen name and device/text-size details if content is clipped or a control is difficult to use. Heat-map day details and numerical counts provide information beyond color alone.

Emergencies and medical questions

No one monitors your check-ins. Do not rely on the app, reminders, AI or support email for an emergency. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services or an appropriate crisis service. Ask a qualified health professional about diagnosis, treatment or medication decisions. Read Important limitations and the Privacy policy.
